AGENDA:
Mobile in Health & Mobile Commerce – 4th June 2012
Join us for some drinks & nibbles with thanks to UK Trade & Investment and hear about some of the trends and developments of mobile technologies in the health industry. We will have presenters from the UK & Australia to dicuss some of the ways in which mobile technologes are changing this industry.
Mobile Health & Mobile Commerce in the UK
- Will Morey, ITEC Investment Specialist, UKTI
Will has a strong background in the information technology and services sector working with some of the world’s largest companies to grow market share, develop new technology areas and establish presence in new markets. He has extensive experience of building information and communication technology companies in the UK, Europe and emerging markets. He brings a creative approach to technology, investment opportunities and the digital market and is an advocate of the positive role technology can play in society and business.
The Project Factory - Jennifer Wilson
We all carry a personal coach, monitoring tool and health advisor in our pocket, but not all of us use it as such. Your mobile can be used to improve your lifestyle, keep you fit, monitor your blood sugar levels, make you run faster, encourage you to a more active lifestyle and even help you give up smoking.
Jennifer will take a bit of a look at some of the more interesting development in this space, including games to make better health professionals and reduce isolation in older people.
Universal McCann Australia – Chris Manson
Chris will look more closely at My QuitBuddy, which debuted on the Apps Store on 31st May to coincide with World No Tobacco Day. The app is already top of the Health and Fitness category and is proving popular with users with comments including “This app is almost perfect” and “I’m happy to pay tax if this is how funds are used. What a terrific app for smokers. Well done.”
